Are you in an abusive relationship with the people you elected? Do they:
1) "Tell you it's for your own good, and that they know better"
2) "punish you for breaking the rules, but the rules keep changing"
3) control what you read, watch and say

4) tell you what to wear 2/n
5) monitor your phone and emails
6) stop you from seeing your friends and family
7) don't allow you to question
8) won't let you go out without permission
9) call you names and shame you

Steps to leave an abusive relationship:
1) realise you are in an abusive relationship
2) realise that you didn't cause or deserve the abuse
3) be aware that you deserve to live life to the fullest, be happy and exercise your liberties and freedoms.

4) be aware that respiratory viruses are ubiquitous and no one has the right to blame you for their spread, the R0, second waves or 'asymptomatic' transmissions. All of these are not within your hands. The only thing within your hands is to wash your hands. 6/n
5) Stop hoping that your abuser will suddenly experience an awakening of their conscience.
Some people have sent their conscience into deep hibernation and their conscience would need to be jolted to be resuscitated. 7/n
6) Remember that you are not alone. Your neighbour who is following the rules religiously is also feeling the abuse deep down in their heart.

Thy neighbour is not thy enemy. Your abuser is thy enemy.

7) Remember that in order to prevail, your abuser must break down social cohesion and connectedness.

So love thy neighbour as thyself and reconnect with them. Start discussing plans to get rid of your abuser.

9) Remember there is strength in numbers. Start getting organised. 11/n
10) Unelect your abuser. Take away their power. Regain your life and the future of your children. 12/12
