He’s a kid who experienced trauma at a very young age because he doctrine himself into becoming a hero only to realize that he cant, he need years to overcome that trauma, and one day he got what he wanted which is a quirk so everything he’s been through was basically thrown away

The quirk he got was a massive shock not only it was his childhood hero’s quirk but its the strongest quirk there is so basically a kid who was depressed for the longest of time got what he wanted from the dude he adored and had a massive responsibility on his shoulders now

The mental burden and pressure he has is unreal and he really doesnt know what to do and it shows that in season 1-3 he really relies on all might and still doesnt realize what he have, the fact that backs this up is that bakugo doesnt respect deku at all

Season 1-3 is basically deku trying to take in everything step by step, from saving a kid at camp and finally the point that changed everything which was all mights retirement, deku now fully understands what him being his successor meant and got his shit together

Season 4 was his answer to all might, him saving eri and destroying the bird ass dude was his way of saying im ready, another thing is bakugo starts to acknowledge deku and saya he needs to make that power his own, that shows deku got his shit together and is ready

Gaining Nighteye’s approval is also part of deku’s way of showing all might that he’s ready and he knows what he’s doing, that is his answer, so basically season 1-3 was deku figuring out everything and season 4 was his genuine reply to all might giving him one for all

Season 5 and more will actually be the real beginning of deku’s journey becoming the number one hero, he starts making the quirk his own, no more questioning shit, so thats the analysis
