Thoughts on the Leipzig game now I've calmed down and where we need to go from here:
1. Starting games poorly. Not aggressive enough in the first 20 minutes. The players seemed very nervous. They were ultimately more clinical and played us off the park but that wasn't just because of the system it was because mctominay, telles, awb and matic seemed very lethargic
2. Greenwood was our most hardworking player. He constantly pressed the ball, won the penalty and probably could've scored.
3. There is character in our team to fight back going 3-0 down but where is that character at 0-0. This is a very frustrating trend that the inexperience of our squad may be causing.
4. Telles is an awful LB. He can't whip a cross in even as well as shaw and positionally he has been all over the place in every game he's played. I'd honestly rather play brandon Williams who showed more fight. Positionally AWB wasn't great but Angeliño was just immense tbh.
5. We haven't got a single capable holding CDM. The glazers haven't backed ole here. Ndidi, rice or zakaria for example would allow us to play a midfield with both vdb/pogba and bruno which is much more convincing.
6. Fred was a massive miss. His stamina and workrate would've boosted the lethargic midfield in the first 20 minutes. Matic was particularly poor
