I understand this point. I have a few issues with being on call.
1. I think when tax payers are paying ÂŁ12billion for a world beating system but it will only work if school leaders do part of their job for them even after we are closed, we have a problem. 1/n https://twitter.com/primarycohead/status/1336411518792048640

2. Schools are not being given any extra money for this. It will take away time from my family at a time when it is needed most and there is no remuneration either personally or for the school. Itâs all further example of âtake, take, takeâ. Goodwill is running out. 2/n
3. Being the one that has to deliver the news about self isolation over Christmas will damage relationships between staff, parents and schools. It could break the hearts of families. Itâs a deflection of responsibility from government and T&T. 3/n
4. None of this is saying that I wonât do it. I understand how it represents part of our civic responsibility. However, at some point there needs to be some recognition rather than the constant negative spin that is put on the profession. 4/n
5. The DfE are clawing back control when it comes to things like closing schools but then donât want to hand things over to school like T&T. If they want schools to carry out these additional responsibilities, they should give us the autonomy to run our schools. 5/n
6. I understand the challenges and how these times are like none weâve faced before. I think that leaders need and deserve an opportunity to turn everything off, unwind, de-stress and spend the time focusing on themselves and their families. We canât keep this up forever. 6/end
