Many of our White counterparts have such a serious aversion 2 the terminology of “defund”the police which essentially means 2 redirect much of their excess funding to other badly needed areas such as mental health. In my opinion, that’s an intentional racist refusal 2 understand!
I see absolutely no reason to even remotely appease or make it comfortable for racists and proponents of white supremacy by using nicer or more palatable terminology, when it involves the police brutality and murder of Black people. Not one iota of appeasement!!!
Let me reiterate that the onus is NOT on Black people to find comfortable terminology regarding police brutality and murder of Black people. No, the onus is on the police to stop brutalizing and murdering Black people. So stop getting it twisted!!!
If Michael Brown had been White, and murdered by White or Black cops, the terminology
“defund the police” would have reverberated until the police department as we know it, would be no more!!!
