1. If the press just did what you said and filmed what you want, they wouldn’t be good at the press we depend on
2. Journalists aren’t all activists
3. Never have any expectation of privacy outside
4. The cops have cameras
5. Be anonymous if you want to minimize risk
Some poor press member just doing their job shouldn’t have to get assaulted cuz you forgot to wear bloc.

And then most importantly, have you seen police press releases? That’s who you want to tell the story?!
And when I say poor I don’t mean pitty them I mean literally the press are broke.
Also things that should go without saying:
- I prefer people not film races at a direct action
- If you aren’t press you have no good reason to film faces
- It is of course fine to ask people to leave
- it’s not okay to put your hands on people
Hot take: something that really bugs me, stop being so fucking binary.

Everyone isn’t either a cop or an activist. A Nazi or an Antifascist. Cameras are not cops. Cops are cops. Cameras are cameras. Liberals are not Nazis. Not all republicans are Nazis. Nazis are Nazis.
So if you say “you’re camera is a cop” and then you’re willing to slap the women holding a camera but just yell at a cop; then you aren’t treating them the same anyway.
And it’s fucking news! News that should be covered cuz it’s dope. Y’all put your bodies on the line for eviction defense. I hope no one gets arrested but arrest is inherent in that direct action and it is newsworthy.
And no white people better come in my mentions about the risks of activism, arrests at protests, or the risk of direct action.
