He's an 18 year old kid who has probably never lived away from his family for an extended period of time. And there's nothing wrong with that. It does raise the question of whether the draft age needs to be raised though, 18 is clearly too young in plenty of aspects.

Stop. Australia is obviously not America. And also those kids have to go through college basketball/football etc. before they get drafted, which is usually away from their families for three years anyway. Different cultures and expectations.

In no other job would a person be forced to move interstate if they didn't want to, and regardless of the amount of money, sport shouldn't be any different. Especially when it's a kid fresh out of high school. End rant.
