How to get into Kid Cudi (THREAD)
With the announcement of ‘Man On the Moon III: The Chosen’ being released this friday, I’ve heard many people say they haven’t listened to any of his music other than KSG or they find him boring. So here’s a thread of how to get into him
First of all, it’s best to start off with his debut album, Man On the Moon, and listen to his discography in chronological order. But if you’re not interested in listening to an entire project, here are a couple songs you can try to get into him
1) Pursuit of Happiness (Nightmare) [feat. MGMT & Ratatat]

One of the staple singles of Kid Cudi’s breakthrough into the industry with MOTM, Pursuit of Happiness is a melodic song about finding happiness and the things he has to go through before he can acheive it.
2) Soundtrack 2 My Life

On this song, Cudi goes into details about his childhood and on the chorus he talks about the daily struggle with depression. Many people can relate to the topics on this song which is part of what makes it so special and meaningful
3) Mr. Rager

Cudi pours his heart out into the singing of this song. He talks about going on an adventure to heaven while people are calling his name and asking where he’s going. This is known as one of his best songs ever.
4&5)Baptized in Fire (feat. Travis Scott)
Surfin’ (feat. Pharrell Williams)

For fans that are more into rap than the other genres he goes into on MOTM and MOTM2, these songs might be more to your liking.
7) Reborn (with Kanye)

Chances are you are already familiar with this song, but if not, this is a must-listen. Cudi’s humming and powerful choruses are an important part of his music, and are done perfectly on this track.
8) Welcome to Heartbreak (by Kanye)

Kid Cudi was an important part in the making of Kanye’s 808s & Heartbreak, and Welcome to Heartbreak is a big song on the project. Cudi sings the hook of this song, and really brings it to life.
That’s all I have for now, I really hope this encourages people to listen to Kid Cudi before the release of his new album. His melodies, powerful lyrics, and psychedlic beats are amazing and I want everyone to be able to appreciate them
I know I missed hella songs like day n nite but I wanted to keep it short and just list off a couple songs that I think are easily accessible
