A concept/reference for @CenoSurvivalRBX of Ornimegalonyx oteroi, a giant apex predatory owl from Pleistocene Cuba.
One of the largest owls ever, Ornimegalonyx was an apex predator, hunting large rodents and dwarf ground sloths.
One of the largest owls ever, Ornimegalonyx was an apex predator, hunting large rodents and dwarf ground sloths.
Though often referred to as a “stilt legged owl”, Ornimegalonyx actually had relatively normally proportioned legs, though they would have still been very powerful.
Though often depicted like a burrowing owl, Ornimegalonyx probably wasn’t as terrestrial. It would have been able to fly (probably about as well as a turkey), and may have ambushed prey by pouncing onto them from higher perches.
(Woops, didnt notice I said “apex predator” twice..)
