It has now been almost two years since Solskjaer was put in charge [1/7]
He did a lot right in terms of personnel changes, reactive tactics in certain matches, and player development [2/7]
But now, for the most part, this squad is reconstructed and competitive. There are still holes, but to say the team is performing at its talent level would be inaccurate. A ceiling has been hit. [3/7]
A right winger is needed. A defensive midfielder is needed. Another centreback is needed. But those are the pieces that separate this side from a title challenge, not week to week consistency. [4/7]
What separates this side from week to week consistency is a plan. Structure. A framework within which the talents of these players are maximized. [5/7]
This isn't to say Solskjaer is a fool or an amateur. Just that we have clearly hit a ceiling for what issues he can address tactically. [6/7]
With all that in mind I don't think you can reasonably keep him in charge of the club any longer. He should be sacked. Otherwise you risk wasting the primes of this core that he has admittedly helped put together. That means starting from scratch. It's not good for anyone. [7/7]
