The Trump Era has done more to reveal the character of a good subset of the American people and our leaders than anything else in my lifetime.

We have a much better idea who the racists are because Trump has made them feel comfortable in no longer hiding their racism.
We now know the people who talked over and over again about how much they love the Constitution, Democracy and the law. But really don’t.

We know that some of those carefully curated images of future conservative leaders who were almost sent from central casting and knew how to talk so eloquently about how they’d stand up for America were fake. As it turned out, those guys and gals are insincere wimps.
We even know now who is extremely gullible and prone to brainwashing. We know who is a little unbalanced. We know who is phony. And we know the people who have no fixed principles that the opportunity for another term or career advancement can’t sway.
The past four years have been like a spiritual X-Rat for America. And, unfortunately, the images show that we’ve got cancer.
On the positive side, it’s better to know that you’re sick than to mistakenly believe that you’re well.
