TLDR; Today the FDA released its findings on the Pzifier vaccine trails. They found it to be supportive of emergency use authorization with minimal side effects. Common side effects are injection site soreness, fever, chills, and headaches. Serious side effects are myalgia.
Myalgia = pain in muscles
Another adverse side effect is Bell's palsy which is weakness or paralysis but is only temporary
Last major side effect is lymphadenopathy which is swelling of the lymph nodes
Also some people got diarrhea

The Study included 44,000 people approximately split between vaccine group and placebo (no vaccine).
Of the ~22K who got the vaccine 8 ppl got covid.
Of the ppl who got the placebo 162 got covid.
The graph shows infection rate over time (red is placebo)

It is to note that the group assignments were randomized and the study is still going so it is likely that the placebo numbers will begin to rise much more sharply now that things getting a little more crazy.
Who got the vaccine?/who was in the study?
The study included participants from the USA, Argentina, Germany, Brazil, S. Africa, and Turkey
50% women
82% White
26% Hispanic/Latino
10% Black
5 % Asain
22% over 65yo (median age was 51)

Let's Look at side effects cause I know that's what yall care about!
The most common:
injection site reactions (84.1%),
fatigue (62.9%),
headache (55.1%),
muscle pain (38.3%),
chills (31.9%),
joint pain (23.6%),
fever (14.2%)

Severe Side effects occured in <5% of participants and were more frequent after the 2nd dose (the vaccine requires two injections).
Deaths? There were 6 total (4 placebo, 2 vaccine).
Both vaccine deaths were over 55yo. one had a heart attack the other had arteriosclerosis

What about benefits?
It is evident if you get the vaccine it does offer some protection against the virus after just one dose.
Also getting the vaccine reduces your chances of getting severe symptoms from the virus if you were to catch it.

There is still A LOT we don't know, because of the timeline of all of this. Usually trails like this last years but because of the state of emergency we are in, we don't have that kind of time.
Some questions you should ask yourself:
Some questions you should ask yourself:
What are the long term BENEFITS?
How long will I be protected?
How well does it work if I was previously infected?
How well does it work for people under 18?
How well will it work if the virus mutates?
Can it protect me from asymptomatic infections?

Considering the risks.
What are the long term RISKS?
How will the vaccine affect me if I have other diseases and or health conditions?
What are the long term side effects that may be very common?
Will the vaccine cause the virus to mutate and become more deadly?

My final thoughts.
Obviously, there is a lot of concern about the vaccine. For those of you saying to wait, we simply may not have enough time for that.
This is the vaccine we have RIGHT NOW , and it seems to work. However, we should remain cautiously optimistic.

Participants in this study have been living with the vaccine since April. That's 7 months.

The vaccine in conjunction with mask-wearing, social distancing, hygiene may be exactly what we need to return to a more "normal" life.

Also, stop sharing and making content that feeds into fear and opposition against the vaccine if that's not what you truly believe.
I know it's funny but at the end of the day there are people on the fence and that's probably all they need to be like nahhh.

What happens next?
A committee is going to vote on if the emergency use should be granted considering all the info that has been laid out. Stay tuned to see if FDA clears (it looks likely) .
