Judge Sullivan has dismissed the Michael Flynn case. That’s just a formality after the pardon. What matters is what Sullivan ends up saying in his dismissal about how the pardon applies to future charges brought against Flynn – and we’re still waiting for that part.
The media is now going to push the narrative that Flynn is magically off the hook on everything, because it’s hoping to outrage you into staying tuned in; it’s always about ratings and no other factors. But it’s unlikely that Flynn’s legal troubles are magically over.
Even if Sullivan makes no such statement, the DOJ can easily bring additional charges against Flynn, and dare Flynn’s legal team to try to get them thrown out. Keep in mind that Flynn’s lawyer is incompetent crackpot Sidney Powell, who would have no chance of winning anything.
But again, you likely won’t hear any of this on MSNBC or CNN, because they know that “Flynn magically goes free” is far more likely to outrage toy into staying tuned in than a nuanced explanation of what the legal avenues actually are.
The kicker is that if Flynn does get hit with additional criminal charges, CNN and MSNBC will then say that it’s “breaking news” and act shocked at the fact that it’s happening. Even though it was a highly possible, and maybe even probable, outcome all along.
