Of course, more research is needed and there are studies in progress funded by @thedrakefdn amongst others... but with what we already know now - more can be done
Most current players don’t understand the risks. I didn’t, until I did a degree in Neuroscience. Young players aren’t informed of the risks when they embark on a career in professional rugby, and they aren’t educated on the things they can do that might mitigate those risks
Coaches unwittingly instruct players to repeatedly smash into tackle pads, scrum machines, others players etc. day after day, week after week. We know what this does to players brains... why isn’t there a limit on how much contact is allowed in training!?
