of course the answer is yes, I dont care how you feel about my threads you freaks https://twitter.com/scum1999/status/1336391072952569857
ok, so our story begins with this fella right here, his name, Boban Jankovic, Serbian basketball player for the greek club Panionios
in a game back in 1993, in the semi final of the greek cup, his team was close to making a comeback after they were initially pretty much out of the game. At some point he thought he had scored two vital points for his team, but instead the ref called for an offensive foul
what happened next shocked an entire generation. my uncle was always telling me about how seeing that on live television shocked him forever. Boban, frustrated by the referee's call he nearly fataly hit his head on the basket
(CW blood)
That incident caused him his ability to walk for the rest of his life, until 2006. Unrelated to the rest of the story but his son is now also an active basketball player.
This story is viewed by most people as a testament of how one moment can change everything and all that, but not everyone interprets stories the same way.
Boban became the subject of one of my favourite songs that was made by one of my favourite artists (Lex), the song is named after him.
the song's focus is mostly class related unfairness, poverty, the system being corrupt etc.

I will translate a few lines, why not:
"she is asking me what im thinking about when i cant sleep,
the posibility of being broke again and eating from the breadlines"
"my friends are piss poor, they are owing their rent.
anticipating for the ball to get in the back of the net (meaning that they expect to win their bettings)"

ofc the most important part i need to translate is the hook, so here we go
"she was always telling me that everything is alright
youre pissed off, you will get over it
but as i was growing up and the world was falling apart
she was scared that i would bash my head like Boban"
Boban hit his head somewhere in frustration because he felt like the whole game was rigged and the system (the referee) was playing against him.

Lex uses Boban as symbolism because he feels frustrated because he also feels like the system is playing against him
im not good at concluding things, all in all, i just really love this comparison and i have nobody to share my infatuation about it with at the moment

if ur still reading ur real ty xx
