Yesterday @NYSEDNews @NanEileenMead held a private-school-parent zoom discussion to gather input how parents define the 'substantial equivalence' to public school law, & what makes parents chose schools.
I signed up last month & got an email that the zoom capacity is full, ok >

I will share my thoughts here.
First, I will not go into the faith religious and cultural aspects in all this, including how faith and religion results to a good outcome for the student and humanity.
I will rather focus on universal commonalities. >>>

In the schools/Yeshivas that I use for my children we teach:
1) anti-violence, compassion, honesty, decency, respect for the law, and seeking the good and peace of for our nation, the USA.

2) A text that exercises the brain with questions and answers, debate and conflicting opinions. And a sense of history and stories.
3) English and math (90-120 min for 6 grades)
4) A total of 36 hours weekly minimum (Judaic and secular)

Results are great as we've have produced good, peaceful, responsible, productive, happy persons & citizens.
While of course nothing is perfect, I do believe it's better than many other systems. And even if not, asking us for perfection is Anti-Semitic per the US Dept & IHRA>

While it maybe that the State feels we should add some minor stuff that is in no way what so ever a problem to our religion culture tradition . However >>>
<<< due to historical & more so obvious contemporary & current reasons, we're strictly forbidden per Jewish law & common sense to any tangible engagement until a clear law guaranteeing religious freedom in education and reasonable independence for private schools is implemented >
This law is justice & American, and the fact that many of NY's media & powerful groups including in Gov are trying (since forever) to overtake us & destroy our legitimacy, it is really a matter of survival for Judaism & our physical lives. see some >> https://twitter.com/MosesKahana/status/1335397927381065728
"Schools have a mission to educate so people can achieve their full potential" @NYSEDNews @NanEileenMead
Statistics show that yeshiva graduates do reach a full potential of life happiness, productivity (for the sake of not arguing lets say on a relative to all other). >>>

Lets also remember that this is like a private club with people having a choice to opt-out.

Also, important to be honest here, that secular people will never agree with religious people on the definition of "full potential", therefore the 1A and therefore NY needs a new law guaranteeing this just and American right.
