On rejection--
I once got invited to a book festival that forgot they invited me to speak and then had to rescind the invitation. LOL.

I also was commissioned once by a popular women's site to write an essay about the power of using my real name in regards to sexual assault, and then after I wrote and edited it they refused to publish it because I wouldn't use a PSEUDONYM. 
And this isn't truly rejection related but once a powerful literary person asked me why I chose to write about the "underclass" and I said, "Because that's my family, that's me," and that was the end of THAT discussion I MEAN LOL.
