If they cite widespread belief in their own lies about “irregularities” as a basis to pass new suppression laws, their efforts should be treated for what they are: bad-faith scheming to steal the next election.
But we should apply this rule generally. This election isn’t the first thing the right has flooded with lies that then become pretext for advancing pre-existing policy objectives, and it won’t be the last.
