For no particular reason, I looked up games in which a team never punted but still lost. It's happened 30 times since 2000.
The craziest was Baylor in 2011. They gained 622 yards against OkSt, never punted, yet trailed 49-3 through 3 quarters. Ended up losing by 35.

But here's some additional craziness. -35 is the biggest margin for any team that had zero punts. The next biggest is 24. That game, that same season, also included Baylor.
5 weeks after losing by 35 without a punt, Baylor won by 24 against Texas without forcing a punt.

In that game, the Longhorns went 14-22 on 3rd down, but only scored 3 second half points as Baylor pulled away.
Oh and guess what. Baylor had ANOTHER game that year where they didn't force a single punt. Versus the Aggies at Kyle Field, the A&M offense led by Tannehill and Swope never punted on their way to a 55-28 win.
Overall, since 2000, teams that don't punt are 297-30.

A&M is 4-0 since 2000 in punt-free games. Hasn't happened since 2011 though, when the Aggies did it twice (v Baylor, Kansas).
The Longhorns also did it twice in 2011. Apparently 2011 was a big year for teams in the Big 12 not punting at all.
