Facts about modeling that no one warns you about:
1. Unless you are the 1% of models that make it big- you’re not making a ton of money.
2. You can be shortish and still do print ads. It’s all about proportions.
3. Modeling “schools” are a ripoff.
4. The best models arent “hot” or “sexy”- the whole point is to sell clothes. So yes, attractiveness helps, but it can’t distract from the clothing. And runway? You’re supposed to be a moving coat hanger, essentially.
5. If you don’t live near a big city and aren’t able to travel there regularly- you’re not going to get modeling jobs.
6. You WILL meet predators in the business. Early on, most likely. It’s more dangerous than people realize.
7. It’s a lot more work than people realize. You ever have to hold a ridiculously uncomfortable pose while wearing shoes that done fit and clothes pinned to your body, while keeping your face still? Or a bikini in winter without getting goosebumps? And that’s not counting prep.
8. Every model is younger than you think. 25 is old in that industry.

Everyone always thinks modeling is glamorous. It can be. But mostly- it makes you a commodity, and it can be a lot more difficult than you realize.
If it’s something you want to try- do it safely. Bring a friend to go-sees, and set your boundaries. If it’s something you think you want to get your kids into- unless THEY want to, don’t.
