How to program cardio to enhance muscle development and strength performance:

1. MUST be individualized to the athlete, their sport, their goals, etc. As improperly programmed cardio for the athlete may result in negative outcomes
2. A coach must have a grasp of the different types of energy systems in order to properly increase muscle mass and strength performance thru cardio
Is he familiar with the ATP-PCr, Anaerobic Glyolysis, Oxidative Phosphorylation systems?

3. While both strength and conditioning can be achieved during the same program - STRENGTH in itself must be kept separate from Conditioning itself
In layman’s terms:
Squatting 500, then doing a prowler push,
then squatting 500 again
So on and so forth...
detracts from strength emphasis

To serve both strength and a conditioning modality, you would be better served to do all sets of squats, squat accessories, & condition well after strength is addressed
If programmed incorrectly, cardio can fuck your strength and muscle mass “gains” all the way up
