Wouldn't be surprising if #UVa decides to wrap up the season after VT and forgo a bowl, and that decision would be more than understandable. But, @slmandel points out that UCF will play an ACC team in the Boca Raton Bowl, usually not an ACC game...
Stew has UVa in that spot in his projections. The game is on 12/22, 10 days after VT, against a good opponent in a semi-close location. That would allow players a week of practice and would allow them to be home before Christmas.
I wouldn't read too much into it, they could still decide to end the season on Saturday. But that game would at least provide an option that would get the players home sooner, if they're interested in playing the game. Plus good opponent and good weather.
The players should get to decide what they do after Saturday. It's been a long, long lockdown in Charlottesville, and they've sacrificed a lot to get 10 games in.
Also worth noting that Bronco said yesterday that bowl assignments might not come until the 20th, which would make sense, after the conference title games and playoff spots get sorted out. But this game, and many others, will need to get their bids out by this weekend probably.
