Reading the replies and... I am the @bctf. If people think things need to be done differently when it comes to schools and COVID-19, speak up and take action. Write letters, call your MLA. The BCTF just fought for over a decade, all the way to the Supreme Court, https://twitter.com/TeriMooring/status/1336131969973846018
for better conditions for BC teachers and students. We only signed a new contract in March. A contract where the employer's starting position would have moved us backwards. We have fought, and continue fighting daily, "for the kids." In a pandemic where many are just making it
through, day by day, why is it teachers who (again) need to strike or walk out "for the kids" when we know we will be gaslit (again) and demeaned (again)? Stop being outraged at teachers for a lose-lose situation. Start being outraged at a government that is taking advantage of
the public messaging around #bced that was nurtured by the BC Liberals and consistently puts teachers in a catch-22 position.
The fact that"many" stakeholders were consulted for an education decision, but the BCTF was not one of them, speaks volumes about the @bcndp and Dr.Henry.
