Some say DBH isn’t solely responsible. Some say it’s not nice to scapegoat her.

So let me explain why I focus in on DBH.

She *is* solely responsible for the job of PHO, the checks and balances to the government.

People point out that she didn’t hire herself, and the responsibility is with Horgan. True.

But it’s no reason to keep DBH off limits. Horgan won’t/can’t fire the idol he created just because we pressured Horgan. Dismantling the DBH pedestal also puts Horgan on notice.

Is it nice to “scapegoat” DBH?

First, not scapegoat - she *is* PHO. Second, why worry so much about her feelings when her inaction is killing a dozen people a day.

Who is our priority?

She is a public servant. Everything she does, we are *complicit*.

Please don’t “attack” her. Don’t comment on her person. Don’t be nasty or aggressive.

But criticizing the job she is doing is fair game. Asking her to #StepUpOrStepDownDBH is fair game. Trying to force a move from her by use of democratic tools is civic responsibility.

One food for thought.

Human psychology don’t do well with a removal of an idol. Humans need a protector they can trust and attach to. In crises, people need it even more.

In dismantling the DBH pedestal, we need to replace not remove. Who’s our new idol?
