Hanuman Dhaara temple, Chitrakoot, UP. Located on a steep hillside, on top of a huge rock, this temple got it's name due to gentle stream flowing over vigraha of Shri Hanuman made of red stone marble. It's believed after setting Lanka on fire, Shri Hanuman returned to this spot
Fuming with anger, He requested Shri Ram to help him pacify his anger as could not contain it in any way. Shri Ram shot an arrow & a fountain sprung from the mountain. Shri Hanuman took bath under this stream of water which flowed from above & cooled him from within.
Right above Hanuman dhaara, is a small room called 'Sita Rasoi' which has a small rolling pin made on a rock. It's believed Maa Sita used to cook here.
