Mazdoor Kisan Shakti Sangathan stands in solidarity with farmers agitating in Delhi against recent farm laws. We condemn the undemocratic manner in which these laws were enacted. We are alarmed at repressive tactics to suppress farmers’ non-violent protests #BharatBandh

In support of the Bharat Bandh the Mazdoor Kisan Kirana Vyapaar Private Limited (MKKVPL) shops, which are a chain of rural retail stores associated with the MKSS that support fair trade, were closed today.

given the scale and significance of the changes being contemplated by GoI, it should have followed a transparent and consultative pre-legislative process as mandated by the directive issued by the Ministry of Law and Justice (DO. No. 11 (35)/2013-L.1)

Pre-legislative policy mandates that the Central Govt publish proposed legislations with requisite explanations for a min no. of days to invite feedback from citizens. It is also required to hold consultations,solicit feedback from potential beneficiaries, in this case farmers

MKSS demands the following:
1/4 That the Centre repeal of the two new farm laws and reverse the amendments to the Essential Commodities Act that have been passed by Parliament in a manner that is suspect #FarmersProtest #BharatBandh

2/4 GoI & States including Rajasthan, constitute a special session of their legislatures to discuss various issues related to agrarian, rural distress. This will allow a far better consensus to emerge between farmers & the centre, about the reforms needed that will help farmers

3/4 proposed reforms by the state must begin with bills drafted by the All India Kisan Sangharsh Coordination Committee (AIKSCC) as their base document. #FarmersProtest

3a/4 In order to universalise and diversify the rations distributed in PDS, govt must not just announce MSP but also procure a variety of crops, including millets, pulses and oilseeds, in a decentralised manner guaranteeing remunerative prices. #FarmersProtest #BharatBandh
