The @UCPCaucus is run, run, running out of the Legislature as fast as they can.

Tonight they adjourned debate very early, w/o speaking in debate once. And they are going to limit debate on remaining bills.

Why? Two reasons.

First, they don’t want to debate their disastrous Bill 47. That’s the Bill that rolls back protections & supports for workers who are sick/injured at work & who are unsafe at work. During a pandemic. When more workers than ever are unsafe. #ableg

Second, they want to get out of the public eye during their disastrous handling of the pandemic. Being at the Legislature means Question Period & debate & daily questions from the media. They want to hide as Albertans are sick, dying, & their businesses are collapsing. #ableg

Tomorrow they will inevitably limit debate to one hour each on the remaining legislation before the Legislature. So they can leave the place where they are forced to answer publicly for their actions & inaction. #ableg

But we know Albertans will keep holding them to account. As will the Official Opposition. The UCP can run, but they can’t hide. Albertans deserve much better than this. And the UCP knows it. They just can’t seem to rise to the challenge of showing up. #ableg
