[ The Longings We Hide ]

When Midoriya Izuku turned ten, he woke up in a hospital bed not understanding what happened but after that him and his mother transferred place.

They started living on a country side where gingko trees grew in abundance painting the —
— town in bright yellow.

Izuku wanted to ask or complain about leaving his life and friends but seeing the beautiful yellow leaves that grew all year round, he resigned to his fate in that small town.

His mother encouraged him to miss a year in school and just rest.
She also started giving him different set of pills. Different colors, different sizes.

Izuku hated them because they make his throat itch and sometimes he felt like they stay inside him not being digested. He had this lingering thought of if someone open him up —
— those colorful pills would spill all over.

But whenever he refuse to drink them his mother would cry and Izuku couldn't stand seeing his mother crying.

So he would go and drink the pills to make him happy even when it makes him uneasy.
On slow days when his mother is holed up in her room, he would take his bicycle and roam around the small town. He would stop somewhere close the river, sit down against the gingko tree and open his notebook and started writing poems.

He had always been in love with words.
"What are you doing?"

Izuku quickly closed his notebook and turned to look at the blond guy standing next to him.

He was of his age, Izuku noted. He has a spike blond hair, red eyes, clad in that black shirt with a skull on it.

The boy look handsome and taller than him.
"Nothing," Izuku shook his head.

This was the first time he saw someone else of his age in that town after all the population in the town is small and there's no children of his age around. In fact the reason why his mother made him skip a year because he would need to —
— go to the next town for school and that would be 2 hours train ride.

"I just want you to rest for now, Izuku," His mother would also tell him.

The blond boy snatched the notebook of his hand and Izuku chased him but the guy was taller and stronger.
The blond read one page a loud and Izuku burned red in embarrassment.

"This doesn't sound so bad, nerd." The blond smirked at him before tossing the notebook back to him.

Izuku avoided his gaze, "You don't have to lie." He mumbled.

"Huh?" The blond replied.
"I don't fucking lie! Lying leaves bad taste in my mouth!" He added.

Izuku turned to the guy with a chuckle, "You're weird."

The blond glared at him. "The fuck? You're weirder, idiot."

"And you have a bad mouth," Izuku frowned.
"So what?"

Izuku looked at the guy who was just staring at him, standing proud of himself. "What's your name?" Izuku then asked.

The guy shrugged, "It's up to you."

Izuku's brows furrowed. "What do you mean?"

"My name," the blond plopped on the grass, "It's up to you."
Izuku blinked. "You don't have a name?"

The other boy crossed his arm over his chest, "I have but I am not telling you that so you can call me whatever you want."

The green-haired boy didn't understand but he just sat down next to the guy and smiled, "Kacchan."
"I'll call you Kacchan then," he added with a smile so bright.

Kacchan smiled back at him ruffling his green curls, "Not bad, I'll fucking take it."

"You should stop saying bad words you know," Izuku said. Kacchan just headlocked him telling him to shut up.
In the upcoming years the two of them grew together, playing, and confiding to one another.

Although Kacchan always had these weird rules.

One, Izuku can't go to his house no matter what. Izuku had cried about it but Kacchan told him if he asked again he won't see him again.
Two, Izuku's mom can't know about Kacchan. The boy told him that if he told his mom about him, she won't be happy and Izuku would be sad because he doesn't like seeing his mom sad.

Three, Kacchan can only come to his house at night when Izuku's mom is asleep.
Izuku had asked Kacchan about all those rules before but Kacchan would always dismiss him telling him that if he wanted to keep what they have, he should follow his rules.

The blond would always tell the green haired boy that he has no qualms in not seeing him anymore.
Izuku had became afraid of losing the guy he had became attached with so he religiously followed his rules.

When Izuku had reached the age of 15, his mother enrolled him in the highschool at the next town.

The greenette was hesitant about it at first —
— not wanting to leave Kacchan who like him was home studied.

"It's okay, Idiot! You gotta get out of this shitty town. Plus! I will be going with you!" Kacchan told him when he opened up about the school.

"Really!? You will be with me?" Izuku light up.
Kacchan pulled him in a hug, patting the back of his head. "Course, I can't leave you behind, idiot." Izuku melted at the hug. "You're so reckless that it can give me a heart attack just thinking about it."

Izuku chuckled. "I am not!"

"Yeah right," Kacchan rolled his eyes.
The blond pulled away from Izuku. "Besides I will always, always be with you, no matter what."

Izuku's eyes watered at the words he heard. " Thank you, Kacchan. Me too, I will always, always, and always be with you."

"I know." The blond grinned back.
That day Izuku went back home telling his mom he's ready to enroll in a school.

On his first day in school, him and Kacchan walked their way to the train station, Izuku was telling him about the new book he read.

Kacchan suddenly stopped on his track, Izuku turned to him.
"Izuku," the guy smiled. "Can you promise me something?"

The greenette quickly nodded, "Anything, Kacchan."

"Don't talk to me unless I talked to you first." Katsuki placed his hand on the top of Izuku's head. "Can you do that for me?"
Izuku frowned, "But why?"

"No questions, Bunny." Kacchan smirked. "Can you do that for me?"

The smaller guy gave a sad sigh but smiled at the blond. "Okay, if that's what you wanted."

Kacchan pulled him on a hug, "That's what I wanted."
"You'll talk to me right?" Izuku looked up at Kacchan.

"Of fucking course," Kacchan said as he pulled the guy and they got inside the train station.

All through out the train ride Kacchan stayed next to him, not talking.
When they got into school, Kacchan still didn't talk to him. Izuku was slowly getting frustrated, whatever game Kacchan was playing, he doesn't like it.

They found their classroom and he sat down on the seat on his paper while Kacchan sat next to him.
Students started filling the room. Kacchan stood up and went outside, Izuku quickly stood and followed but h bumped into his homeroom teacher on the way out.

"Take your seat, class is about to start." Aizawa said as the greenette apologized and quickly went to his seat.
Izuku settled down but when he looked next to him, someone else took Kacchan's seat and he was starting to panic because the guy hasn't returned yet.

He was about to tell the person next to him about Kacchan when someone entered the classroom.
"You're late," Aizawa looked at the blond. The guy rolled his eyes and just proceeded to his seat which was behind Izuku.

Izuku turned to the guy, "Where have you been, Kacchan?" He asked.

The blond furrowed his eyebrows, "The fuck did you just call me?"
Izuku was taken aback by his hostility and the way his voice was deeper than it used to be.

"Kacchan, are you okay?" Izuku asked.

"Hey, bastard, whoever you are stop calling me shit! I don't know you so fuck off!" The blond snarled, Izuku flinched, his eyes sting.
"Bakugou, that's enough." Aizawa said while the blond clicked his tongue. "Sit properly, Midoriya."

Izuku mechanically turned, his fists clutching his pants tightly. What was happening? Why is Kacchan acting like that?

Izuku felt his chest started to heave heavily.
His breathing started to come short, tears began flooding his cheeks. Soon, he was hyperventilating.

The next thing he knew his teacher was trying to calm him down while his classmates look at him worriedly.

His green eyes met the red ones who looked at him with worry.
"Kacchan," he weakly called but the blond didn't respond to it. Unable to calm down, Izuku passed out from panic.

When he woke up, he was in the infirmary alone. He pushed himself to sit down and tried to remember what happened.
"I can't leave you for a second, huh?" Kacchan said as he sat down on the edge of the bed.

Izuku looked at the guy, crying, "Did I do something?" He hicupped. "You don't want to talk to me and when I did you got mad at me and acted like you don't know me."
"Izuku," Kacchan called softly as he wiped the guy's tears away.

"Kacchan, I don't like this. If this is what you'll do here, I don't want to go to school anymore." Izuku cried.

"You have to go to school, stupid."

"I don't want it anymore. I just want to be with Kacchan!"
The blond smiled at the guy weakly. The door of the infirmary opened while Izuku was busy sobbing to himself.

The curtain around his bed was pushed aside. "Hey," Izuku wiped his tears looking at the blond who was glaring down at him.
Izuku blinked and looked back and forth at the blond standing and the one sitting on his bed.

"Kacchan," Izuku turned to the blond sitting on the bed. The guy gave him a sad smile.

"I don't know who the fuck are you but you keep calling me Kacchan, the fuck is wrong with you"
Izuku kept his wide eyes at the guy sitting on the bed. "Kacchan, what's happening?"

Katsuki furrowed his eyebrow at the greenette on the bed. "Who the fuck are you talking to?"

Izuku turned to the blond standing, blinking, "I'm talking to Kacchan, other Kacchan."
Katsuki scowled. "Are you messing with me? I was here cause I was worried but you kept pulling these damn cheap tricks on me."

Izuku bolted in his place, "What do you mean?"

"It's only us here, dumbass so who the fuck are you talking to?"
Izuku turned to Kacchan who was sitting on the bed but he wasn't there anymore.

"What's going on?" Izuku asked in disbelief.

"I'm the one who's supposed to ask you that! What the hell is wrong with you?" Katsuki snapped.

Izuku quickly stood up. "Kacchan!" He called.
Katsuki grabbed Izuku's wrist making him look at him. "Can you just fucking explain what the fuck is going on."

Izuku snatched his arms off his hold, "I don't know what's happening! You're the one who should explain to me! Where's Kacchan?"
"Who the fuck is this Kacchan? You keep calling me that now you're asking where he is," Katsuki answered back.

Izuku took a step backward as the nurse with his mother came in. "What are you doing here? You're supposed to be in class." The nurse turned to Katsuki.
"Shut up," Katsuki glared at the nurse his eyes not leaving the confuse Izuku who was being tended by his mother.

"Mom, I don't understand what's happening," Izuku turned to his mother who was soothing him.

"It's okay, let's just go home and rest for today," Inko smiled.
Izuku gave a weak nod as Inko grabbed the boy's thing. The older woman bowed down to the nurse thanking her for her help as the two of them left.

"You should go back to your class," the nurse turned to Katsuki.

"What the hell is wrong with him?" He asked.
"I can't tell you that but I can tell your teacher that you're lazying around. Get back to your class, I have been repeating myself over and over." The nurse said in irritation.

Katsuki rolled his eyes, "Fuck you," he grumbled walking out of the infirmary.
As he was walking back to the classroom, his eyes saw the mother and son walking together on their way home.

Katsuki narrowed his eyes on the figure of the greenette, questions filling his head. Usually Bakugou Katsuki doesn't bother with anyone but that guy got his attention.
Katsuki jammed both his hands inside his pockets, thinking of how he will unravel whatever shit the greenette has going on.
