The main frustration of the anti-Turkey block,their hurry to impose sanctions on the country,their attempts to constrict Turkish EEZ waters,stems from one reason:their pet project PKK's(particularly YPG's) failure to deliver military defeat to the Turkish State on land

A lot was invested by EU actors & others in YPG,including free 24/7 media propaganda;they started believing that combined with YDG-H waging trench wars inside Turkey,the TSK could be delivered a military defeat,or at least a humiliating ceasefire, ...

...thereby militarily stopping an Erdogan-led Turkish expeditionary posture abroad. Serious-seeming western commentators started talking about YPG potentially breaking out and reaching Mediterranean! ...

Then the 2016 coup attempt was made,instead of constricting Erdogan,he finally had real control over the TSK. Panic set in among YPG's sponsors, after a while ,Afrin region was captured,and the final nail in the coffin was the swift takeover of Tal Abyad-Ras al Ayn Corridor...

The fact that YPG could fold so easily during Operation Peace Spring shattered the last hope of confronting Turkey on land. YPG still exists,but their sponsors know well that it's at Ankara's mercy. It's no longer the force their sponsors imagined it was....

You will notice that only after the Operation Peace Spring of Oct-Nov 2020,did the East Med crisis really take center-stage.
It's an admission of failure to confront and restrict the Turkish State on land. Then Libya and now Karabakh. Imagine the frustrations NOW
