A SMALL BIZ 🧵 (1/7)

Yesterday I converted my first lead into a client 🙇🏽‍♀️ A bit of a hiccup on the proposal because I am still learning @mydubsado and creating systems + workflows to automate certain tasks.
(2/7) Last week I got my online payment gateway setup. Did a test via WooCommerce.m, which was successful.

Until I had to do it from the client’s POV 🥴 the number of clicks to get the page to actually put in the CC details was 5+ clicks too many for my liking.
(3/7) I’d be toying with the idea of using Podia or Thinkific to manage my recurring SM clients. Just hadn’t fleshed our the nuances of connecting as an http://Authorize.net  merchant.

FUN FACT: Podia only integrates with Stripe and PayPal so ISSA no (for now)
(4/7) That left Thinkific, which is a pretty cool tool and would require research to set up.

Then I remembered Simplero. Price wise idk how it compares to Thinkific and I have yet to confirm if Thinkific allows integration with http://Authorize.net
(5/7) I do know that Thinkific allows external payment gateway integration...

The moral of this thread is that being a service based business owner in Bermuda is WORK! I see why many small businesses give out their bank account number for online banking transfers.
(6/7) HOWEVER that won’t be me 🥴 Mainly cause my first client is international and that’s not how the companies overseas so it.

What I’m not gonna do is sell myself and my country short.
(7/7) This experience has taught me ALREADY why local banks need to offer WAY more to their business clients to allow them the resources to scale their businesses. 🙇🏽‍♀️
