We always assumed the time between Election Day and inauguration would be dirtied up with Trump-fueled desecrations and degradations. We always assumed this would be a downward spiral. 1
But the more elected Republicans refuse to end their kowtowing, the more we’re going to be saddled with the endless refusal of cultists to move on—and the more their sour cries of fraud & conspiracy will undermine the efforts by Biden to bring the country together and move on. 2
That mucking up, that continuing cancerous spread, is of course what Trump hopes for. In the havoc and the hate, he will find his home and continuing purpose. 3
But this continuing effort to undermine democracy and the will of the people, this effort to keep poisoning the system, may well backfire. If Biden is inclined to move on & avoid investigations of the corruption and criminality, this ugly spectacle may force him to pursue them. 4
Biden may realize the only way to overcome this poison is to fully reveal the truth of this Trump regime, including investigations, prosecutions and a national reckoning. That means serving justice, holding them accountable, reducing the chance that it will happen again. 5/end
