Why I’m annoyed with the way people treat BLM on twitter, a thread by me a black person
Obviously this doesn’t apply to anyone. If you’re black I would love to hear your thoughts if you’re not black then be quiet and listen. I use y’all for simplicity so keep that in mind
Let’s go back to June to start. It never sat right with me that it took so many people threatening to unfollow people for y’all to start saying something. It never sat right with me that the threads that were the top searches were by white people when black people
were giving the best information. So many of y’all speak over us and for what? We told y’all if you wanna support blm and have it your dn it was fine but no y’all listened to a thread a white person made even after multiple black people told them to take it down
Y’all use blm as a scapegoat to talk about other issues. If you can talk about blm then you can talk about ... It’s blm for y’all until someone is calling you out for aave. It’s blm until black people call your fave out for being anti black and there you go
saying they apologized. Its the fact y’all rely on black people to educate you on everything. The internet is right in your hands. If you’re on twitter you can spare a few minutes to educate yourself. Another thing is I’m tired of y’all using white celebrities
as a standard. For example such and such is so great bc they tweeted about blm. Blm is more than just tweets. It’s blm on twitter and I bet most of y’all still clutch your purse in the elevator when a black person walks in. I’m tired of clickbait threads. Do y’all know
how much it sucks knowing some of y’all will click on a thread to read about Harry Styles but won’t click on to sign petitions. It’s sad people have to trick you into doing shit. I’m tired of being spoken over. I keep quiet but a lot of y’all have been doing some anti black shit

support blm but yet you’re still doing anti black shit. Supporting blm doesn’t make you some godsend. It makes you a decent person for supporting human rights
