So this labor of love launched 3 years ago. It was possible because of our fans encouraging our creators & writers to continue to tell the misadventures of this ragtag crew. Script written! Two weeks before principal photography was to begin, our #Psych world was shook. Most of you know the story. @Omundson suffered a massive stroke and would be unable to film. His wife was joining him and the calls were going out. @JamesRoday put out the calls to us.
Unable to film?? My brain wouldn’t process that. This was @Omundson - our stubborn foil, our lovable thorn, our erasable, well, ADULT in our world populated with adolescents. One of our own was hurt and hurting. We felt untethered and looking for direction on how to proceed.
James and @SteveFranks parked in a booth at one of our favorite Vancouver, BC haunts and did a page-one rewrite to accommodate our rapidly changing #Psych landscape. It would look different. It would feel different. It would be different. And yet, somehow it had to be the same.
The rest of us stepped up to fill an impossible momentary void left by Chief Lassiter, knowing that if we could just hold his place for 90 minutes, continue the misadventures, we might get to reunite to see him on camera again...
I love #PsychTheMovie. It may not have been everyone’s cup o tea but know the story behind why we needed to film THIS movie. Why Steve and James wrote this script. What journey we needed to travel together, to support each other, so we could arrive at #LassieComeHome.
Dec 7, 2017 we all gathered in a living room to watch the premiere together - 8 months after we wrapped. Together again. Whole again. Grateful for this family. Grateful to be able to lift up our friends. Grateful for the joy to keep laughing at our misadventures.
