Danny Akin: “I believe in personal and structural(systemic) racism. Sinful humans will inevitably build sinful structures. Again, I have been clear.” I applaud and appreciate President Akin for his clarity & convictions expressed across the years in righteously addressing race.

The centerpiece of CRT is to deconstruct “personal and structural(systemic) racism. Therefore, it’s baffling to me, why the SBC is so adamantly(in reverse)opposed to CRT. The SBC ‘19 overweight passed a resolution declaring the Bible was supreme over all man made ideologies...

and philosophical constructs, including CRT. But, where truth may be found in any of these, it could be affirmed as Paul & Jude affirmed statements from pagan poets/philosophers, without affirming them or the entirety of their ideologies or philosophies.

I will be the first one to join the chorus shouting CRT is wrong on any issue identified that clearly contradicts the Bible. On their centerpiece issue, they are right. I’m wondering how the other 5 presidents would address the question of structural(systemic) racism?

If the SBC acknowledges the reality of structural, systemic racism, I have zero problem with the SBC denouncing CRT wherever they violate Scripture. I too will vote to denounce a specific aspect of CRT that violates Scripture. Broad, sweeping, ill defined & unspecified...

strikes at CRT, as was done by the seminary presidents statement, is un-Christlike, intellectually dishonest, unfair & beneath the dignity of SBC seminary presidents. Trust me when I say, the Black Baptists Preaching world, is reeling behind this broadside, blindsided attack.

I implore the president’s to offer a clarifying statement that’s clear regarding what they mean & don’t mean. If they support Akin’s statement & specify disagreement with CRT, backed by Scripture, many of us stand ready to stand with the SBC Presidents. Please be clear. Thanks.
