THREAD: The pace of #COVID19 deaths is quickening across Tennessee. Consider the following: Tennessee's 1st death was reported on March 20, 2020. 1/
131 days after that first death report, Tennessee reported surpassing the 1,000 mark for #COVID19 deaths. 2/
44 days after posting 1,000 deaths, Tennessee reported surpassing the 2,000 mark for #COVID19 deaths. 3/
41 days after posting 2,000 deaths, Tennessee reported surpassing the 3,000 mark for #COVID19 deaths. 4/
27 days after posting 3,000 deaths, Tennessee reported surpassing the 4,000 mark for #COVID19 deaths. 5/
And 19 days after posting 4,000 deaths, Tennessee reported surpassing the 5,000 mark for #COVID19 deaths. 6/
At this rate, we could be looking at another 1,000 deaths in just the next TWO weeks. 7/7
P.S. For anyone confused about the downturn at the end, that's the lag in reporting. It takes about two weeks for all death certificates to be reviewed and filed.
