huge changes as @GeorgeGascon is inaugurated:
-no charging juveniles as adults
-victims services for victims of police brutality; no longer victims required to testify to qualify
- commission reviews all use of force cases since 2012, which to reopen (1)
- phased in no bail
- no status enhancements (gang enhancements) and three strikes violations (including pending cases)
- review thousands of cases to potentially resentence, including all three strikes, enhancements, people in prison for more than 20 years
- no death penalty cases and committed to resentence those now on death row from LA
-stop criminalizing poverty by filing misdemeanor charges. increase diversion to help address crises in the streets
