because I am completely fucking petty, I’m going to make a thread of my favourite thing about all 31 main characters (u’s, Aqours, Nijigasaki, Saint Snow + Shioriko and Yuu) to show the anon from earlier I do in fact not hate any of these characters.
Honoka:
A better question would be what I don’t like about Honoka. She started it all, which can’t be attributed to anybody else. Honoka begun everything. She’s been here since the beginning. And I love her for it. Also her cheerful attitude.

Eli feels like one of the only genuinely threatening characters this series has had. I love her strict tone, it really keeps u’s in order and lets her shine individually once she gets over her stubbornness.

Kotori:
Simply put, the best friend in the series. She’s always by Honoka’s side, pushing her forward. I admire Kotori for her willingness to not be in the centre, but to keep pushing everyone forward.

I love Umi’s attitude. She’s always determined to stop people from being lazy, as she genuinely knows they can do great things. The fact that she’s so strict on everyone is simply because she cares, and I love that about her.

Simply put, the most innocent member of u’s. Rin is playful and fun to be around. Her charm is in her energy, and I adore that the most about her.

How deceptively cute Maki is. She comes off as this cold tsundere. But once you get to know her, Maki is utterly adorable and you just want to protect her.

Her guidance. Sure, she’s funny too, but u’s couldn’t have a better guiding figure than Nozomi. She’s cool, collected and deceitful. Keeps people in line, but is really kind.

How undeniably PRECIOUS Hanayo is. Her love of rice and idols, her meek attitude. But she’s strong too. It makes Hanayo one of the sweetest characters in the series.

How deceptive she is as a WHOLE. Nico is so good, so complex, so detailed as a character. She has such good development hidden behind such a basic concept. I love it.

Riko is special. Really special. She has the power to bring so many fans together under her music alone. The fact that she’s so important to so many dynamics cannot be forgotten.

How genuinely important she is. Kanan is important to everything Aqours does. She was the backbone that got the first generation going, and she supported Chika both as a member and before she was one. Kanan is not a background character.

How cute she is. Dia is another deceptively cute character, she holds a lot of love for idols in general and when Dia is happy, she is super adorable and needs to be protected. Also buu buu.

You is important to everything Aqours does. There is no denying how important she is to the anime, the fandom, the franchise in general. Shes Aqours’ most popular for a reason. Please understand who she is!

Yohane is one of the funniest characters the series has. When she’s on screen with characters like Riko and Dia, she is undeniably able to keep a smile on the face of the audience at all times.

Hanamaru is another misunderstood character. She’s genuinely fantastic, being the best possible friend Ruby could ask for. This shrine maiden isn’t a pushover either, having enough of a voice to speak for herself. She’s funny, too!

I love Sarah’s voice. It’s so powerful and commanding. Super memorable too, good voice!

How genuinely funny she can be. Kasumi is often the butt of jokes, but they’re always extremely funny and they wouldn’t be as funny if Kasumi wasn’t such a gremlin.

How she proved Love Live can make a competent antagonist. She’s not unlikable, having all her moves be completely logical. Shioriko’s development from antagonist to protagonist is just incredible.
