Two reasons our allies say they are concerned about NZ's climate action. First, while other countries have reduced emissions, NZ has registered the second greatest increase in emissions among industrialised countries since 1990.

Second, while other countries have pledged under the Paris Agreement to further reduce emissions, our target - unchanged since 2015 - uses what our allies describe as "tricks" to disguise that we have only pledged to cap the increase in emissions.
