Louise in a publicity portrait by Eugene Robert Richee, 1927.
A bit on the Paramount (P) publicity photo # system: #703 is the identifying # for Louise (Carole Lombard is #1202, Clara Bow is #755, etc.). The #127 is the sequence in the photo file. Generally the lower the # the earlier the photo (but not always).
With a significantly longer tenure and higher profile at Paramount, Carole Lombard had over 1700 photos in her publicity file compared to about 180 for Louise (I’ve identified about 100). Louise’s photos for the studio were taken between late 1925, upon her signing, and mid 1928.
These photos do not include various fashion photos (often identified with the prefix FASH) or pics taken for a specific film, like these for Canary Murder Case (ID #1164) (L) and Rolled Stockings (ID #1069) (R). Sometimes a film used more than one number. Confusing!
