They buy politicians by investing in the companies and businesses of all the politician's friends and family until they command considerable influence over their world (did this with Bushes) - that's why we invaded Saudi Arabia's regional enemy Iraq after 9/11 instead of Riyadh.

To this day, Saudi nationals are afforded almost complete immunity in our legal system. If a Saudi national kills or harms someone, they're allowed to leave the country to escape prosecution by our system. We are a vassal state of foreign powers like them.

Saudi Arabia is also, in a very real sense, a slaver state. Their economy is run by an imported caste of foreign laborers who are routinely abused and trapped in place. Their war in Yemen is fought by child soldiers purchased from Africa that they run over land mines.

And, most importantly, the Saudi government was directly involved in the sponsorship of 9/11 as an act of terror against the United States meant to draw us into wars to their benefit and our detriment. And our government covered it up.
