a question for folks who are child-free and wish to remain child-free indefinitely:

when did you realize/decide you do not want to be a parent?
i think i was barely out of college when i thought “if i never became a dad, it wouldn’t be the end of my world”

and now i’m in my late twenties and finding that i would really rather be a part of a community raising a kid/kids, rather than “having my own”
I’ve met guys who, when asked why they wanted kids, said they want to prove to society that gay men can have a family/see it as a “fuck you” statement

which, fair

but also there are family models outside the nuclear family! and lol idk if a kid should be a political statement
