She’s who I would most like to see some prominent character work done with in the Reign of X

But only saying that because we know big Storm stuff is coming. With what we have rn, Storm first, then Jean

Then again, Jean is a tricky character and I think a lot of male writers don’t know how to invest in her beyond ‘she’s so powerful but she’s also the group mom’

I’d love to see Leah Williams or a similarly prose-invested female writer take a stab at Jean’s headspace

Jean Grey is a messy and marvelous character, internally and externally a constant pulse between power and control.

She can as easily be defined by her pettiness and fire, as her compassion and love. She’s a lot of things at once, and not always by her own motivation or choice.

Jean has a story that demands tension, in small ways and big. There’s always a Jean that’s holding back, in her power set and her personality - the politics of femininity.

The best stories embrace that Jean is love AND rage. And that those two things are often hand in hand.
