Gov. Newsom is announcing an app, California Notify, that will notify you if you were exposed to someone with COVID. He says Apple and Google helped create the app, which Californians can choose to sign up for
The app will become available this Thursday for Android. The Apple version already exists if you go into your phone and turn on "exposure notifications" in settings
Basically, if someone puts into the app that they're COVID positive, everyone they came into close contact will be notified of their exposure
This has been running as a pilot program at UC campuses for several weeks and already has a quarter of a million users. "An additional tool in the toolkit in terms of your safety protocols," says Newsom

15% remaining ICU capacity is the trigger for Newsom's stay-at-home orders. Southern California is down to 10.9% and the San Joaquin Valley down to 6.3%
finally, some good news: Gov. Newsom says that FDA approval the Pfizer vaccine is expected on Dec. 10, and approval of the Moderna vaccine on Dec. 17.
California is planning on receiving 2.16 million doses of vaccines by the end of 2020.
