It's that time of year where people begin setting New Year Resolutions.

Before you set yours that you will likely inevitably not hit, remember this..

Reasons > Goals

Allow me to explain 👇
Goals are outcome based, which means they are temporary. You can't treat the symptom, you need to cure the underlying cause.

Success is found by changing your identity. How?

- Change the way you think
- Change the way you act
- Focus on who you want to become

Examples...
❌ Lose 10 pounds
✅ Live a healthier life thru nutrition and exercise

❌ Read 1 book per month
✅ Expand my knowledge, and apply it for X

❌ Pay off the $2k in credit card debt
✅ Adopt a sustainable budget & better financial habits
❌ Walk 10k steps a day
✅ Live a lifestyle that lowers my cholesterol and improves my health

❌ Run a half marathon
✅ Run every morning before work to be healthier

❌ Invest $500/mo
✅ Build a budget and adopt consistent habits to contribute every paycheck for retirement
Notice the ❌'s are all one-time events. In the event you somehow follow thru and get them done, then what? You fall back into your bad habits from before.

Rephrase your resolutions so that they define your identity and who you want to become as a person.
When your focus is on your WHY, this then becomes sustainable.

Why do you want to run a marathon? Why do you want to read a book, Why do you want to walk 10k steps?
