Schumer says that Reps.-elect @MondaireJones @RitchieTorres @JamaalBowmanNY will lead House companion to Warren/Schumer resolution from this summer calling on the president to use executive action to forgive federal student loans.
Schumer says he has spoken with Biden about canceling student loan debt: "He is considering it … he’s researching” whether he has the executive power to do so.
Interestingly - Schumer also says he's pushing for Biden to do an income test for debt relief -- limited to those earning <$125K.
“It only affects middle-class and poorer students,” he says.
