WHY IT IS BETTER TO NICHE DOWN

The idea of niching down most likely scares some sellers
If niche down they think they would be limiting their reach, and ultimately result in less sales
But if you have a variety of items in your shop without a lot of sales, I would highly consider niching down...

If you think wall art is a niche, think again
A niche is a specific product or product line that solves a problem or fulfills a want, need, or desire for a specific target audience

"If you are selling to everyone, you are selling to no one."
If you are shopper looking for wall art, who would you trust more?
Shop A: Sells wall art, wedding invites, and socks
Shop B: Sells boho wall art, nursery wall art, motivational wall art

Shop B is correct, but why?
Shop B would look more like an expert and an authority in wall art
Rather than Shop A who is selling probably bad wall art but also other random things you aren't even shopping for

"The riches are in the niches."
You can sell a ton of different styles of that one product
But you also want to raise you AOV.
When niched down you can bundle your items together or make them into a collection.
For example:
Nursery Wall Art - $15
Bundle of 3 - $35

"Jack of all trades, master of none."
Having a niche helps you focus and prioritize what's most important in your shop
Think about all the extra work is involved when you have a variety of products.
When you are in a niche you can focus in and ultimately have better listings

Even in the long run, if you were wanting to scale your shop into becoming a known brand then niching down is really important
As you grow you will learn more about your target audience
all their wants, needs, and desires leading you to create products they will purchase

If I have convinced you niching down is the better way to go, then what do you do next?
Think about the product or product line that is going to serve your specific target audience
If you already have a product that is selling just double down on that niche.

The end goal is to become a well known brand on Etsy and you can't do that by selling to multiple niches
