The CBC has a lovely series called "the big spend". While I applaud asking questions about government transparency and accounting for monies spent, it's really disingenuous to imply that much-needed aid to canada's people and businesses was a "big spend" like it is a bad thing.
Furthermore, who applied for and received government aid isn't exactly supposed to be public information. If you owned a small business and got $X in government pandemic support, would you want that plastered all over the news?
We have privacy laws in this country for a reason.

This all smacks of pushing the conservative rhetoric that "spending is baaaad" and I'm sure they will uncover one corporation that (legally and above board) got a huge support payment to fuel the next faux scandal.
Who can smell it with me?

O'Toole "government spending is out of control!"

Singh "Trudeau is giving money to his rich and well connected friends!'

Reality - the government is supporting everyone in the crisis of a century.
