I have no interest in signing up as a gender critical theorist if doing so means I am then expected to declare which expressions of gender are acceptable. Declaring all expressions of gender equally valid is a radical act of liberation. Anything else is just more policing. /1

When we declare ANY expression of gender as wrong, its just another performance of dominance culture. We must celebrate the full spectrum of gender expression. Letting others, including our trans family, find what is their natural expression of self is the gift we owe everyone.

As a person who is gender fluid, this is the hill I will die on. I will fight day and night for the children of this world to not have to pretend they fit in to any preferred definition of gender, regardless of whom those definitions are prescribed by.

Billions of us who are not trans also struggle with the narrow definitions of gender every day. We are all in this struggle together, with our trans family, to break out of the gender binary. We are all in the same fight for freedom, for ourselves, for the next generations.
