Thread: 1/5 - Just on Galway's timeline, as some people think they didn't leave enough time to travel to Dublin. They were planning their day for a 1.30pm throw-in in Parnell Park and were in Kinnegad at 11am when they agreed to switch the game to Croke Park.
/5 By Google Maps, that's about 50 minutes left on their journey to Parnell Park, which is plenty of time for the original fixture. Also, they can't avail of dressing-room facilities as normal due to Covid. Arriving too early would have meant hanging around in the freezing cold.
/5 Bringing the game forward by 30 minutes throws their plans out of kilter as it's already delicately balanced. You're trying to get to a pitch early enough to get your warm-up in without being there too soon. They were also driving in cars and not all together in a team bus.
/5 Galway have also said they were given assurances by the LGFA that they would have sufficient preparation time upon arrival at Croke Park before throw-in. But were then only afforded a seven-minute warm-up.
/5 There really isn't much more Galway could have done with their travel plans.
