I think this idea subconsciously attracted me to their work. The bomb scared me as a kid too, from nuclear drills to Barefoot Gen. There was a point where some of the Morrison Magic died, & it was around page 157 of Supergods. (Don't take this as a counterpoint—it's not) Read:

I remember reading this in Supergods and being really disappointed in them. (And guilty—the book was signed, a gift) To my recollection, this is about as deep as they get on black heroes, and it's sort of mentioned and dismissed as "relevance" comix. A fad, a wave.
